just got this boat from a dealership, got it home and hooked it to the muffs,

Engine is a 04 75hp 4 stroke Yamaha

If you imagine my throttle control as the upper half of a clock 12 being neutral ... 1 slightly in reverse.... 11 slightly in forward...

That being said...

Last night I took it out of neutral

seemed to engage at maybe 11 o clock....

prop and engine didn't start revving until 10:30?? (I only went to 1,200 for a few seconds being on muffs)

Seemed to be a lot of free play till the engine would start revving up..... maybe this is normal??? I thought it would be a instantaneous thing as soon as it came off 12 o clock .....this is my first boat... so any insight would be helpful

Thanks

Ill see if I can maybe post a video this weekend....

Don't worry, CC. All part of the learning experience.

It is much better to ask because learning can be expensive sometimes.
