Hi all -- I'm new to this forum, and to boat ownership in general, so I appreciate your patience with me... Last week, I lost all throttle control, luckily while still at the dock. I pulled out the controls and found the throttle control cable completely shredded. Obviously the cable needs to be replaced... but I could really use some help in figuring out what parts to buy.

The motor is a 2001 Honda BF130A (130HP) and the end of the throttle cable at the engine looks like a universal threaded tip.

The other end of the cable is connected to a ~1997 Quicksilver control with what looks like maybe a Mercury style tip (brass tubing which houses a stainless arm with an eyelet at the end).

I really appreciate any guidance anyone can provide ... I've attached a photo of the cable at the motor end and at the controls.

Thank you!

Hi there, I'm having a similar problem. In my case, the cables look ok, but the gear cable is stuck and not moving. I was able to make the throttle to move, it's very smooth right now, but it won't engage F or R. Were you able to figure out how to remove the cables? I almost disassembled the entire control and was not able to get the cables out to test if the cable is broken or the control is locked.
Thanks

The OP has not returned and you are hijacking his thread about connecting to a Honda and you're working in a Merc. Start own of your own and tell us what Quicksilver control you have - There are hundreds of models.
