I am replacing a stretched throttle cable on a 72 50hp Johnson Hydro Electric. I assume I have to remove the black trunion on the end which attaches to the motor before installing to get into the motor?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Just a thought can a cut the inner cable instead of replacing it?

Thanks,

Fuser

Re: Throttle Cable Replacement

The Long Life cables, if your going with OEM equipment, come with the trunion already on. Same with the generic replacement cables. Not really sure what you mean by "cut the inner cable instead of replacing it". Have never seen a core replacement.
