throttle cable

i have to replace the throttle cable on my 1976 sea-ray srv220 mercruiser 233hp.how do i remove the shifter to get started?

i cant get the manuel to download.i found a allen set screw on the bottom of the shifter, but i can only pull the handle out about a half inch. it feels like the button is holding it .do you know how to remove the button?
