I am replacing some parts in my throttle control box and I want to know what grease I need to use when I put it all back together.I know that some are much better than others for viscosity and stiffness and wont harden over long periods of time. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I cleaned everything up and put a little high temp wheel bearing grease on the moving parts. The wrong grease is better than no grease.

I have been useing the Merc quicksilver anticorrosion grease on every thing steering, controll box, throttle linkage, and prop splines. Not to thick and sticks to parts real good keep in the boat tool box at all times.....

I used the same grease I do on wheel bearings too, it is water proof and seemed to work pretty well and as they say, any grease is better than none at all.
