Throttle Control Button Inoperable

I'm guessing I did this somehow but am curious if anyone else has had this happen. It's an OMC style concealed side mount controller. I replaced the shift cable and when putting everything back together, the throttle only control will not engage, meaning I can't give it gas now without forward or reverse being engaged. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I swear I fix one thing and break two others...shifter does move nicely now though!

Fixed it, and feel stupid. My remote has to go in full reverse to take off as there is an allen screw that can only be accessed that way. Anyway, when I put the controller back on, it wasn't aligned exactly where it needed to be. I found out by trying to push in the button and move the controller until it engaged throttle only. Simple fix, whew! Can't wait to get on the lake to try out my new Teleflex Xtreme shift cable!
