I want to dismount and remount the throttle on a 19 foot, 1986 Bayliner Bowrider as part of a renovation project. Before I start breaking the plastic parts, does anyone know the correct sequence and location of the assembly and mounting screws? Thanks.

Re: Throttle Control Disassembly

I did this last summer on my '85 Capri, so I may not recall everything perfectly. But this is how I remember it goes....

Pop off the cover in the center of the lever and remove the screw (or nut) and remove the lever from its shaft. Then pry off the remaining plastic cover and that will expose some screw heads. There are nuts and washers on the back side, so you need to hold them with a pliers or socket from behind. I recall there are 4 screws around the lever area, then one larger nut or screw toward the rear that must come of also. That will allow the assembly to be pulled free of the upholstry/plywood from the back side. Becareful, there are some sharp parts on the control.
