can't and wont complain about the years of service this motor has given me. Today on my maiden voyage of the year the throttle just quit after running fine. Transmission engages at idle speed but push the throttle and you get nothing. I unmounted the control box and removed the lower acess panel on the control and the linkage is still intact. I can't see whats wrong but i'm guessing its in the control box not at the motor. I can see where the black round things that surround both transmission and throttle cables set one on top of the other but the throttle seems to want to wander. This may be nothing, Anyone had a similar problem?

dart;

You don't say whether or not you checked to see if it was connected at the engine end. If it is connected at both ends, odds would suggest a broken cable. With the throttle cable disconnected at the engine end, move the throttle forward and see if the disconnected end is moving or have someone hold the disconnected end and move the throttle through it's range and you will know if the cable is broken or not.

What is the s/n of your engine?
