I have an old 20hp seahorse which I am changing from tiller to remote. The gear cable is working, the steering is working but the throttle on the remote wants to pull foward but the throttle on the engine wants to be pushed back.
Can I change the direction on the engine to suit the remote ???

Re: Throttle Control

Hello.
Pushing the remote throttle forward actually pushes the cable backward to the engine and pushes the throttle part by the engine backward thereby accellerating.

Re: Throttle Control

Thanks for the interest .
But in this case the control is pulling the throttle cable forward. Its a dual box . 1st moment forward give me forward gear and the follow throught moment is pulling the throttle cable forward as well.
Getting close to using the hammer.

Re: Throttle Control

After lots of coffee.I found the problem.
It turns out that the control box has the wrong fulcrum fitted in it.I will have to get a new one tomorrow as it is 4am now so I can sleep in peace.
