I incorrectly adjusted the rod that is attached to the carb throttle assembly and the mag plate, and now have no top speed... Could any of you fine mariners post or forward me instructions with or without pictures,,, much appreciated.

More info / pictures.-----Did it run fine before you adjusted it ?-------Does throttle plate open up fully when you operate the control ?----Is throttle plate closed at idle position ?---Is there a gap between the adjusting collar and the arm.on that long rod or does that rod move all the time when you throttle up ?

Hi racerone. I will attempt to get some pics today, thank you. The boat did plane out but the reason I adjusted it was that I did not think the throttle plate was all the way open as much as it could be. I 'd say the rod moves all the time when I throttle up. From what I've read there is a cam roller mechanism with the throttle assembly which should line up with the mark on the plate - I did this to the best of my knowledge, but unless something else is going on here, I must not have adjusted it correctly, and cannot find any illustration which show where exactly the mark should be when in the idle position.
