throttle make and how to remove trim switch?

Can anyone tell me what make this throttle is? It is in my 87 Starcraft.

the trim up function doesn't work. I ran a jumper direct to the pump and it runs the motor up. So, I guess I need to pull the switch and replace it. Can anyone tell me how to get the switch out of this throttle? It appears to be a one piece throttle, and I'm not sure how to approach removing this from the boat.

Thanks.

It was made by Teleflex.

Check the wires behind the throttle. They break or wear behind there.

Got the control off the boat after all. Can anyone direct me to where I might find a replacement trim control switch? A Google search doesn't yield helpful results. Didn't know if any of the long time experts on this site might know of a supplier of this sort of thing.

Thanks.

Ayuh,.... Trim pump problems are usually else where in the system, 'n it's rarely those switches go bad....

Did ya test anything but the pump,..??

Try the OEM for parts...

Re: throttle make and how to remove trim switch?

True enough. Looking at the troubleshooting chart in the service manual I do need to take a look at the continuity of the trim limit unit. However the switch IS the item that would take the biggest beating over time, and this is an old throttle control it appears. Plus, I figure if I need to order the switch online I should start the search process.

However, thanks for the reminder that I should go back to the service manual and do the next trouble shooting step.

As for the OEM, I don't have high hopes. As I said, I think this is an old throttle.
