throttle moves when pull started

I just changed my points coils and condencers. After I got everything back together when I pulled the rope to start it, it moves the throttle from start to off. I can feel it kind of bind up a little. I am not sure what to look for. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It would help if we knew what engine you're talking about, there.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Check to make sure the high tension wires from the coils to the spark plugs aren't rubbing on the flywheel. With the motor off, watch those wires closely as you move the throttle from Off to WOT. The wires are "slack" at Off/Start and pull tighter as the armeture advances to full throttle. Are they catching the flywheel when they're "slack"? Also, make sure when they are "slack" with the hood off that they aren't pooching out to the side where they would hit the hood if it were on. The hood might tend to "steer" them back toward the flywheel.

A couple more ideas - if you weren't really careful tucking the wiring in it may be rubbing on the flywheel when it's spinning. If you adjusted the postition of the coils at all, they may be rubbing on the flywheel as well. Finally, if the armature plate is excessively wobbly, the ignition coils can rub on the flywheel.
Any of these sound likely?

Look closely at the aluminum surface that the coils sit upon. You will see a slight bevel there right at the top edge.

Align the vertical metal portion of the coils (the yoke) so that they align with the inside top edges of those bevels. This allows the proper distance between the coils and the flywheel magnets.

Thanks for the great ideas. I have to go be a Marine this weekend, but I will check all of these when I get back.

One more question, before I changed the points coils and condensers I could WOT and it would instantly git. Now it seems like it takes a few seconds to reach WOT. Thanks again for your help.
