IM BACK FOR MORE HELP PLEASE <br /><br />1985 EVINRUDE 70 HP V PRO<br /><br />I AM HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THE THROTTLE CABLE ADJUSRED PROPERLY <br /><br />IT SEEMS THAT THE FIRST TWO INCHES AS I PUSH FORWARD THERE IS NO RESPONSE AT THE ENGINE BUT AFTER THAT I GET A SMOOTH RESPONSE AND IT MOVES TO SMOWHERE NEAR HALF THROTTLE BEFORE TTHE T/ LEVER IS FULL THROTTLE <br /><br />I HAVE ADJUSTE THE CABE FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER WITH LITTLE CHANGE I HAVE DICONNECTED THE CABLE AND CHECKED THE THROTTLE MANUALLY IT WORKS FINE BUT SO DO THE CONTROLS ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED :mad:

The first few inches fore and aft are when shifting takes place and the rpm should not go up. Full throttle (fwd) with most controls has the lever almost horizontal. A shop manual would help you regarding what's normal.

The easiest fix is to get rid of that piece of junk and buy a new one. I am sure any salvage place or your favorite brother-in-law would take that engine. He probably even has a superior Johnson SUPER Sea Horse 60 hp that he would let you have out of the kindness of his heart.<br /><br />(Just make sure you bring the trim controls)<br /><br />Just Kidding of course...<br /><br />Bro
