Ok I have a 4.3 mercruiser alpha one. We were out all weekend and on Sunday I was trying to pull my son up wakeboarding. After like the 3rd time I went back to slow down and the boat wouldn’t slow to normal. I put it in neutral and it was running at 2200 RPMs. In forward idle speed it was creating a wake. Took to my friend who is a mechanic on vehicles but does his and my work on boats. He said when feeling around something popped on throttle cable and it went back to where it was supposed to be. Now says I need a throttle return spring. What size and where can I get one? Thanks

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,..... It sounds like you need a new throttle Cable,......

Boats don't use return springs,....
Tension from the Cable should hold the throttle against the idle adjustment screw,.....
