Throttle shifting problem

Hi all,
New to this forum,
I have a 93 LARSON
4.3 alpha lx,, I am having problems shifting,
It does go forward and reverse but it is very tough to move the throttle.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
First time boat.

Replace the throttle cable.

Aye... its probably the cable. But disconnect if first to make isolate what ever is binding. It could be the shifter, could be the cable, could be the carb throttle... only way to make sure is to check it all piece by piece.

It was the cable and also had to re set the throttle,
