Throttle Twist Grip

I have a 1992 Johnson 15 HP Ser No 03086300 Model No J15RENM which needs the grip replaced. I thought I could push in the two protruding lugs on the main arm and it would slip off but that's not the case and can't get it off.

Hey malibu....welcome to iboats.<br /><br />Should come off. Sometimes ya' gotta pull a little or push in a little further on the lugs. They even make a special tool for this. Push in evenly on both sides and have someone pull.
