Sorry, came back and realized this is in the Outboard part of the forum. Still, any help is appreciated.

Hello all,

I have recently purchased my first boat and have a quick question. I've drove boats with outboards before and they have a throttle lever that I can rev up the engine without putting it in gear. I've also seen them where the center of the bottom of the drive lever pushes in and lets me throttle up without putting it in gear. My 2004 Bayliner 195 with a 3.0L Mercruiser doesn't seem to have either of these. No lever and the center doesn't press in. Is there a way I can rev up the engine to help it warm up without putting it in gear?

Thanks!

Normally the stern drive motors have that feature. See if you can get a make off the control and look up it's features at the manufacturer's web site. You my need to pull the throttle lever straight out or some other method to achieve throttle only.
