throttle

just installed new throttle cable on my volvo penta Aq125A, seemed easy enough ,but something is backwards {cable ends installed correct } but when i started it, it was in complete high throttle with no control over it with the controller at the helm. i did notice that when I put it in reverse the throttle moved just a little bit ,but when it is giving forward throttle it go"s the opposite direction ,so when i put it in reverse it go"s to the forward motions on the throttle. just need any type of help. Thanks

Sure you didn't swap the throttle cable for the shift cable?
What happens when you use throttle only?

If you removed the lever on the control box you may have installed it 180* wrong. Volvo throttles “pull” to open so just take a look and you will see how it works.

had a mobile marine come out and he could not figure it out , but i think you are correct sir . but I decided to redo the whole system new cables and controller. Done , and now time to enjoy some fishing. Thank you .
