Guys, I am finishing up my 63 alum starcraft holiday restore and I have a question. before I put in the final carpet in the back of the boat I am wondering if I put my new thru hull fitting in to low for my bilge bump. The issue is that I put in the fitting just above where the water line use to be before the restore. Now I am wondering with the addtional weight from the thicker deck, extra seats, and two casting decks that my boat will sit lower in the water. with out having to drill another hole and figure out how to plug the other hole I am wondering if I can loop the flex tubing from the bilge to the thru hull fitting above the water line. (6 inches higher just to be safe) This way I shold not get any water back into the boat. The bilge is a 500 so I do not think the extra head of 6-10 inches will creat a issue. What do you guys think or is there another way? check vavle, etc...
thanks

Loop it and if you are really worried about it put a check valve in line.

6" shouldn't kill the pump, or you need a bigger pump. there's really no other way, my bilge thru-hull is about 2' above the waterline. don't use the check valve, restricts flow. the hose should be looped.
