What is an easy way to remove a hose from a thru hull barbed fitting where not much room is a available. Can i put a little grease on the fitting to make it easier to get on. And how far should they be pushed on so taht they would leak with a hose clamp on them.

Grease/lube is fine, and will certainly make it easier. Push them on all the way, until the end of the hose hits the end of the fitting, then use 2 stainless steel hose clamps to secure it. You should be good to go!

Sometimes to remove the old hose you have to split the end of the hose with a razor for the length of the fitting to get it off.

If its a real stubborn fit sometimes a little heat from a heat gun will help it slide on a thruhull fitting easier just don't over heat it.

Re: thru hull fitting

I had a similar situation with a 1.5" thru hull. I disconnected the hose from the opposite end and installed the hose on the thru hull before installing the fitting in the hull.
