I'm going to mount a humminbird 153 Piranha fish finder on my pontoon boat, will the transducer work thru the aluminum mounting bracket on the back of the pontoon? i was going to epoxy it to the bracket to keep it more protected than being mounted underneath it. Thanks

Re: thru hull transducer

It is going to need to be screw attached. Epoxy will release from the Aluminum after a period of time. Sooner when water is involved.

The Transducer will need to be mounted so that at least the lower half is below the extended hull line.
If it is not in clean, bubble free water constantly, it will not display properly when the Boat is moving.
Most transducer brackets are designed to fold backwards if something hits the transducer.
