I installed a new thru hull fitting for my livewell drain. It is in a very tight spot and I used a thru hull fitting that would accomodate a 1 1/4 or 1 1/8 inch hose i could only slid in the the fitting about an inch becasue there was on room to work and my hose must have been a 1 1/8 inch hose. I had pushed and pushed and that was all i could get i tried to pull it off and get some grease on it to slide it on further but it wouldn't move so i installed the hose clamp do you think it will be water tight.

Re: thru hull

I believe so, in the future though dish washing detergent works great to lube hoses onto fittings, another suggestion which may or may not work since you have space issues is a hose clamp.

Re: thru hull

I was able to get the hose clamp on i was afraid that if i tried to take the hose off i would mess the fitting up and have to start all over. So you think it will not leak water

I doubt it those fittings with the barbs combined with a hose clamp you should be good to go, if your concerned about it wrap a paper towel around it with a wire tie and check it next time your out.
