Thrust Washer

Replacing the stock prop on a F115 Yamaha outboard with a Stiletto. Suppossed to reuse the thrust washer but am not 100% sure if the coppery looking raised section in the attached photo is actually the thrust washer. (couldn't get it off). Can anyone verify if it is indeed the thrust washer..thx much

Yes, that thick piece is the thrust washer. You may have to pry it loose but it will come loose.

Thank you much. The othere funky issue was that in torquing the prop nut it recommended 40.7 ft/lbs. To get the cotter pin hole centered I have choice of either 10 or 55 lbs. Do folks play around with the washer thickness to get the torque exact or is it not that critical?

I just torque to the recomended spec and if needed, tighten to the next hole.
