HELLO ALL,
I just bought my first boat the other day. $200 got me an OLD OLD OLD 19' inboard cuddy cabin thunderbird/Formula. Its a fixer upper to say the least and thats just what I wanted. I know a boat should float, other then that I know nothing. Thats why I wanted a fixer upper (what better way to learn). I'll be lucky to have her in the water this season. Some say she is a piece of @*&% but all I can see is a vision of her zipping across the lake. I cant wait.
Does anyone know where I can find an on line manual for an older thunderbird(or any info for that matter)?
I cant find a number plate for info (such as year model etc) Looks like one is missing buy the throttle. Is that where it should be?
I'm also not sure if its an OMC or mercruser. How do I tell?

Let me know if you need any help on the restore, Ill be there. I thought there was OMC on the engine somewhere? The boat looked like a late 60s-early 70s when I saw it.

IDK on IB motors, kinda still learning OBs. LOL. I do think oak trim would be snazzy around the cuddy, I can mill it if you get the stock. - or whatever kind you pick.

Re: thunderbird/formula info?

I used to play drums in a band up there somtimes. The Chez in waterville i believe. If there is ever a maine i-boating weekend..Count me in. Good luck with the thunderbird..Just this past weekend me and my brother were catching nice bass and some sizeable pike in long lake/belgrade. Not too far from you. Worth a look when you get her running.

Been a while since I've been to the Chez. Nice place:eek:LOL.
Bouttime use to play drums back in the day.
The only thing I played was the 16oz bud lite. Apparently I was quite good, or should I say, wicked good.
Funny you mention Belgrade lakes. I think the hulls going to ride fairly deep so I was thinkin belgrade would be a good place to get her reacquainted with the water.
You hear that boutime? Pike in Belgrade. FISH ON:D

Im from a 1 stoplight town, just installed 10mo ago. 20 min east of Waterville called Burnham. The Chez-Days of yesteryear, had a few good nights there. --- I think

Re: thunderbird/formula info?

I'm in the process of setting up a personal web page so I can display some pics, all of mine are too big for the site and I can't figure out how to reduce them.

Maybe pop a question onto "Problems using website and forums", someone may be able to steer you in the right direction.
