Does the data plate s/n match the s/n on the powerhead?
It comes up as a Model 1800101:

This was helpful. I found the # on the distributor mount casting. I have red trimI've have three of those motors (2 parts motors and 1 running), and on each of them there is a SN stamped elsewhere on the powerhead. One motor has the SN stamped into the distributor mount casting, and the others have the SN stamped on the starter motor mount. Check there to confirm if the two numbers match.
What color is the accent trim on the cowlings? I think they were red until 1972, then changed to blue in 1973.
In Texas we have to title separately both boat and motor and the title for the motor does carry the motor year. Such is the case on my 2010 Veranda and 2009 Yahama 115. This is why I was confused. The title denotes the year of the boat not the motor.Any year can be on any boat.J
