Looking at buying a 1989 Thundercraft 22. Would like to hear any comments from persons owning the same boat. Thanks

This thundercraft has not been in the water for 2 summers now. It was winterized by prof mechanic. Should I be concerned about engine or boots etc since it has been sitting for this long?

The boat is a 1989...... It's 16 years Old.......<br />I'd be More Concerned about the 14 years Before it sat........<br /><br />You should be Concerned with Everything between the Bow-Eye,+ the Prop-Nut................. <br /><br /><br />Good Luck...

Thundercraft built a pretty decent boat back in the mid to late 80's before they lost it in 91. The 22' was a nice boat although they tried to cram a lot of boat into the 22'. I had a 89 Magnum 29' and now have a 90 34'. No complaints about construction just the usual stuff goes from wear and tear.

What motor and outdrive? That would make a differance in my book... and above all can it be water tested before you buy it?<br /><br />Bob

Motor is a mercrusier 4.3 Liter, 6 cylinder, 205 HP, 375 hours on motor (original). Alpha One. Good friend of fine bought boat 4 years ago from original owner, boat in mint codition. Friend has operated boat for about 30 hrs and has not had the time to use it so it has been in storage for last 2 boat seasons.

I have a blazer 4x4 4.3 liter vortec motor 6 cylinder. Will this vehicle be able to tow boat? I beleive boat is 3,900 lbs. Vehicle towing capacity is 5,500 lbs???????? Trailer has assist brakes.
