I just installed a Apollo stainless steel prop on my boat, but had to leave off the spaCer washer do to there not being enough space. The washer is the spacer washer that goes between the nut and the splined adapter. The washer it self has a cutout for splines. I bought the prop from Iboats. Shoul I leave this off or replace right away? It drove perfectly fine, but I only drove for about 15 minutes today. The thrust bushing is installed att the base of the shaft.

When you put the prop on, were there any splines sticking out out of the hub? If yes, that is what the splined spacer washer is for, to provide a contact surface so the propnut will secure the prop. If no spline were sticking out, a flat washer would probably work.

Exactly what I needed to hear! No splines we're sticking out. Thank you!
