I have a 88hp 95 evinrude that I've had for about a month. Runs great! Question is at 4000-5200rpms there is a ticking noise coming from the motor that is constant. The faster I go it increases with rpm, but not in noise just speed. Is this normal?
I have the same motor and it does the same thing.The ticking is noticable only through the mid RPM range.People at the boat dealer said that is exhualst noise.I don't remeber hearing it when it was new.
I have that same engine and I also hear that noise and I notice if you turn the prop by hand you can hear a click for every time you turn it. Perhaps this is the origin of the noise
