Tie bar for Dual OB Sea Star- it broke Help!

Gentlemen, on my way out this morning as I was raising my outboard engine to trailer the boat and head out for a great day out in the water, the tie bar on the Sea Star steering system broke , pics are attached.

Seems like an easy fix, except I am having a hard time finding the part online.

Is there anything I should know? Is it as simple as taking off nut and bolt on either side and then replacing the bar? The system is from the early 2000's as the boat and engines are 2002-3. Any specific size or are they adjustable?

Anybody have a link where I can find?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ayuh,... You'll probably have to get it from the OEM to match what's there....

To find something "Close enough",...

Search Heim Joint....

Yup, I would roll my own........ I would use stainless steel tubing and heim joints used for suspension on car's and various machine parts

google heim joints

I don't see any car parts there, but my lawn tractor uses a steering heim joint like that.

I see you are in Illinois, that means your up in the snow belt or close to it. late model snowmobiles have heim joint/ball type joints in their front suspensions, pretty manly ones too. Take your bar off and run over to a local Arctic Cat, Polaris, Yamaha, Ski Doo sled shop and see if they have a heim/ball joint that would work. An example would be on any late model Polaris, a ball type joint connects to the top A arm, the ball has a hole through the middl of it. You would likely have to have the end of your bar drilled and tapped to accept the new joint thread. Once that's done, take the bolt out of where your broken joint is, slip the Polaris ball type joint with the hole in the ball in there, put the bolt back in through the center of the ball, then all you have to do is set the distance between the motors so one motor isn't going straight and ones taking a hard left. Do this by turning the bar, once both motors are straight, tighten the jamb nut on the ball joint and go have fun.
