Tie down procedures for two hurricanes that are coming

Oh boy, now it's hurricanes...two of them headed towards our neck of the woods (SW Florida - Bonita Springs).<br />I'm pulling the 19' I/O out of the water and cinching it to the trailer. There is no place to tie the trailer to that is real sturdy.<br />Will heading her into the wind help?<br />Keeping it hooked up to the trailer hitch seems risky?<br />Anyone got any good ideas how to secure it? We're expecting gusts up to 75mph.<br />Bonnie will hit first, probably 200 miles north so no sweat hopefully<br />Charlie might hit us square on sometime Friday.<br />If worse comes to worse.... anyone wanna buy a sub?

to honest with you if you get enough wind to blow a 19 foot boat off the trailer i would be much more worried about my house and family being safe <br /><br />you done the most you can do move the boat to land and hope for the best<br /><br />tommays

Thanks tommays... my family is up in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin so personal saftey issues are covered.<br />I just don't want that puppy being blown into anything or anybody.........

Get some mobile home tie down anchor's and some ratchet straps and run them into the ground one on each side in the front and back then attache<br /> the ratchet straps going accross....I live in Jacksonvile and that is what I am doing first thing in the mourning....I hope everything works out ok and everyone stays safe...

Get some insurance and roll with what you have. I would leave it hooked to the truck. Worse comes to worse, you get to go shopping for a new boat after the storm.

Like said I wouldn't worry to much about the boat flying (if that happens that last thing you will be worried about is the boat) I would worry about thing flying into the boat. If you don't want to leave it hooked up to your truck then do what I did for our last hurricane. Put jack stands under the transom and crank up the front jack till it is locked in place.Just make sure it is still at a angle so the water will drain out.

I think Chmath has the best idea, other than hitching it up to your truck and hauling it to georgia.......good luck...........
