Tie the boat to the porch

I hear there may be alot of flooding down south from the slow moving storm after it comes ashore. We just had some flooding near the Va. line this morning from some tropical moisture. I hope everyone fairs well next week.

When I was young (long time ago) we had a summer home on the beach by a bay......... the ocean was 1/2 mile away since we were on a peninsula.

During a hurricane we tied our boats down to the porch even though the water was 150 yards away........ Just be sure to tie the boat off with enough line that it will float.

We had a neighbor tie off too tight and it held the boat down as it got flooded while our boat floated up with the water
