New to the site. I have the chance to buy a 76 Johnson 70HP dirt cheap. Had it checked by a mechanic and it is in excellent condition. Problem is it's a remote and I need tiller. Can't find one, can somebody help ? Is it available ? Not going to buy unless the tiller kit is available....Thanks in advance....Pete

I looked on the BRP website, couldnt find any 3 cyl.omc's in the 76 era with a tiller.BUT,I do remember there were some ,but that was long ago.Bottom line is,it would take a conversion of the cowling pan,and probably the powerhead adapter assy, then you would need to find the handle and all that goes with it.I doubt it would easy or cheap, would you then also want a pullstart recoil too?most tillers had pullstart. My advice would be to pass, unless you somehow can convert to accept the remote eng.

Mikesea....The motor is an electric start, that part I could wire up with a switch. I think you may be right on the availability of the tiller handle, I've checked everywhere I can think of. Hate to pass on the motor but look's like I may have to....Thanks again....Pete
