this is the problem on the tiller handle on the very end there is a knob that you tighten down to keep motor at a constant speed kind of like cruise control for mainly slow speeds well it is broke i can't hold that speed when i'm hand lineing. How hard is it to fix? i keep losing fish because i'm losing forward motion when i take my hand off the throttle:mad: the part is the idle adjustment assembly

Can't help you with it, but if there is someone who can, you should post the motor year and model number if you have it.

The part is replaceable, parts here at Iboats.

To remove the tiller grip, there are two plastic buttons on it toward the motor. Push them both in at the same time, and move the grip away from the motor as you screw in the idle speed adjustment on the end of the grip until the grip comes off. Good luck

Either the threads could be stripped out of the grip, or the idle adjustment/kill switch. You will have to dissemble it to find out what you need to order.

Being stripped out, after you depress those two buttons at the same time the grip should slide off. You may have to turn the idle adjustment button some.

Here is a pic of the tiller handle assembly.
