I have a 1983 Mariner 25hp short shaft tiller motor. I would like to use on a 10' hydroplane I bought. What is involved in converting it to remote control?

I have the same question - but on a different boat and motor.

I'm looking at buying a 60hp injected big foot '96 merc, currently a tiller, I want to put it on my pontoon to replace the 25hp evinrude.

Ezy-glide makes a great stick steer solution. They are readily available on ebay.

The actual conversion is easy, its the expense of getting the control box/harness system along with cables that is the biggest sticking point.
Make sure if you go used that you do your homework and find what
year/HP range (controls) will work for your engine.

Good luck.

Its been pretty hard to get a good answer on this subject I guess there are so many variables. I will just settle for the easiest cheapest way. Anybody. 14ft Jon Boat with 25hp Johnson 1981 on both. Thanks.
