My 1966 Sea King 45HP(made by West Bend) uses a Tillotson carb. (OM20A) is the only serial number I found on the carb) I need to get a carb kit but when I went to Napa the only kits they carry are for Crysler/Force motors and they dont specify years in their books. I wrote down all the model carbs their kit carries but mine is not listed. Are all Tillotson carbs the same or what?

No, they're not the same. There are many different sizes. They are the same configuration by design, but come in many throat sizes and jetting.
If you can match the block flange gasket of one kit to the old one off your motor, you can use most of the contents, including the needle valves and seats from the kit.

Hi Brian
Please post the model# of your motor. It will begin with VWB. If your motor is a 1966 model the it is a Chrysler made product. Chrysler bought out West Bend some time prior to 1966. I don't have a SeaKing (Montgomery Ward) parts catolog for your model, but I might have one for a Chrysler 45hp of that year/era.

No problem there, it is Model # VWB19088A SERIAL # 11557

I found a place on the net called Laings outboards that sells a carb kit for a resonable price, I was just trying to find some place local to me.
http://www.laingsoutboards.com/

Brian

Hi Brian, The closest I can date your motor is 1964-66. So I guess it could have been made West Bend. I don't think this really matters much. The carb repair kit# I came up with is Chrysler# RK671. This is for a 1966 45hp. You my be able to order this thru Napa (Sierra marine parts). I think I would go with Langs. Might be a little more (might not) but the odds of getting the correct parts are better. Fact is I would listen to Langs over myself.
