Tilt and Trim - 1979 200949A 150 HP Evinrude

I've recently acquired a 1984 Champion 184 as a project boat. It has a 1979 Evinrude, that needs to be rebuilt or scrapped. Anyway, it may be my ignorance of these old units, but I connected a battery, pressed the T/T button to lower the engine, and a solenoid just clicks. Is there a lock or special sequence I need to follow before I drop the motor?

Find the green wire going down to the tilt motor. Run a jumper wire from the battery directly to that. If it still doesn't work you have motor problems.

Thank you! I'll get into it today, and see. I suppose I should wait until I remove the motor. It's not going to see the water anytime soon anyway...if ever.
