tilt and trim not working

mercury 40 oil injected 1989 when you hit the up/down switch it clicks the solenoid but no action, went straight from the battery to the tilt/trim still nothing swaped solenoids still same problem <br />thanks in advance

poppyskayla,<br /><br />Have you checked all of you electrical connections, pay extra attention to all of the grounds. Clean and brush all connections even if they look clean, also check for broken wires and corroded wires. Does it do this both directions?<br /><br />Hope this helps.

us jumper wires could have a broken or corr, wire you can not see
