I have an 85 50 horse yamaha. I was wondering if I have just tilt or tilt and trim? I know once I plane out it will not trim up. Only at low speeds will it raise the motor. Just want to make sure not low on fluid or anything.

OK. I'll have to look later. The boat is at my sisters house.

Well I am sorry to say the old model #s did not tell you which one it is. After 1990 it did.
Does it raise slower for the first part of the lift and then speed up?
If so it would be power trim and tilt.
If not it is just power tilt

I think it is a constant speed the whole time. I did drive some bigger 200 horse mercury's when I was younger. I noticed that when you raised it up for the transom saver it got faster after it got to a certain height up.
