I'm looking for a tilt and trim system for a 1977 55 hp johnson, where would be the best to look, and what type of system would be the best to look for. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Tilt and trim

Being that old your only real option is a CMC tilt trim, it is an after market system, they have been around for years and are very very durable, I have run one for 7-8 years with no problems at all.

Finding a working TT that is 33 years old is just not going to happen and if you go new, if you can even find one, you will spend as much or more than the CMC unit and have to dissamble your engine where the CMC is a bolt on.

They are a bit pricey but as I said your options are really limited, check around on Ebay or they have them here at iboats.

If you need the tilt/trim system really bad go with the CMC system. I've installed them, installation is easy and they work very good.
