Tilt drops slowly

Hi, I have read many post on how the tilt on many force 85 motors slide down over a minute or two. Many of the fixes say to put the motor down and to turn the tilt motor release all the way to the right (counter Clock wise) then all the way back. But what they don't say is how? I don't see a screw, I just see two little holes. It almost looks like you need a key of some type. I have attached a picture. Can someone tell me how to do this? Would be great if this fixes the issue!!!!

Re: Tilt drops slowly

There is no manual release on that tilt system. If the engine is slowly sinking, then either the small O-rings inside the valve (circular thing held in by an internal circlip--visible in the photos.) are leaking or the large O-ring inside the tilt piston is leaking. The only sure thing is that it will accelerate. The only choices you have are to rebuild the pump and/or the tilt cylinder or replace them.

But it says Manual release right above that grey cirlce at the bottom of the pump in the picture. Has Arrow's that go in both Directions as to turn it. I know there is nothing leaking, I have never seen anything coming out of it and it's full of fluid.

Thanks for the Help!

Re: Tilt drops slowly

It SAYS manual release because on some pumps there WAS a slotted stud sticking out. If you turned it, it did release all pressure. I have only seen one of these pump bodies and yours is not one. The factory simply never changed the molds. It was simpler and less expensive to leave the lettering in the mold and cast all pumps with the words.
