Looks like previous owner was not really handy man and damaged Tilt end cap (not a TRIM), when replacing o-rings. I bought and replaced 0-rings and dust seal hoping to fix a problem. It did not help. As I expected, after getting apart tilt assembly, the end cap is damaged inside. The division between the grove where O-ring is sitting and dust seal, is damaged. Question is: are the shops that repair/refurbrish those parts (cap only), or can I buy some used one or refurbished?
All I want is to repair end cap but in all on-line stores all I can get is whole assembly of tilt (64E-43810-00-00) for $343. Is there any way I can make the fix less expensive. I understand that Yamaha is selling it as a whole as the fit of end cap and rod must be tide but I think all the those parts are within some tolerance and fit well and whatever difference is, it is ?cover? by the seal.
