there is a tilt limit switch near the tilt tube.
it limits the upward tilt of the engine preventing damage.
it is damged (melted) beyond repair.
there are two wires attached to it.
can i remove this part and simply snip the wires.
or should I twist the ends of the wires together completing the circuit?
thanks
sean

take the motor cover off and locate the light blue with white stripes wires. They are at the back righthand side of the motor. These wires have bullit type connectors and you can diconnect and bypass the switch there. laters

disconnecting the bullets is the same as sniping the wires at the tilt limit switch???

woodshole, the limit switch completes the circuit to trim motor. If you want to bypass it you would connect the two leads at whatever location.

if you connect at the bullits no chance for corrosion. you can do whatever you want i just didnt want you to have a problem later on.
