tilt motor not doing what it should

on my 71 chrysler it has a volvo 130 motor with a 270 outdrive..the motor that tilts the motor (it is a cylinder that runs thru the transmission area and it is none hydr.) it does not seem to be holding the motor anymore my question is how does it come out i took the too bolts out and tryed to pull it out but nothing...please help me fix

It's called an elector mechanical lift. The problem is usually corrosion holding it in the transom shield more than the bolts.
Heat and penetrating oil is your best bet, but don't expect the penetrating oil to do much.
If the boat was ever in salt wate, the problem gets even worse.

does it just come straight out...and no salt water

Yes it should pull straight out. Twisting usually helps.

I remember one time someone saying there was a guy that rebuilt them, but I don't remember who it was. From Volvo, the parts are NLA.
