I have an older johnsons v4 and the tilt N trim o ring on one of the tabs is apparently busted.
I am new to repairing/rebuilding boats and rather new to this forum.
I did make a search and didn't find any info on the tabs itself.

I asked other more experienced boaters, and they said that there was a tool that was needed to remove the tabs from the hydraulic TNT???

I guess my main question would be, how would i go about replacing the o rings on the TNT, hydraulic fluid is leaking out of the right tab.

I am currently thinking about taking it to a boat store and get a quote on how much it would be to repair it. of course i would rather go for the least expensive route, everyone can't seem to have enough money :p

any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance

If you are handy spend the money that you would normally spend in a shop and get the OMC shop/service & parts manuals for your engine & have at it.

i can get hold of the parts manual online, evinrude has a nice site with the complete breakdown, but has anyone replaced/ rebuilt their Tilt n trim? and how did you go about doing it? I don't need a whole rebuild, just need to replace one of the seals on one tab
