What is commonly used for a tilt pin? I've searched the net for tilt pin, thrust rod, thrust support----you name it----I've tried it and found nothing?

Any suggestions?

Thanks...................

Re: Tilt pin

what engine year/make ? if you are looking for the pin you move from hole to hole, it's the thrust rod

1989 Force 50hp. Yes, the pin you move from hole-to-hole.
About 10" length, 3/8" or so diameter, with hole for retainer (cotter pin, etc.

Thanks.......Lee

xtraham:

Checked your suggested website for my model Force and found this diagram:

As near as I can tell, #32 is referred to as a lockbar w/handle. #33 is a spring pin and #35 is the lockbar handle.

If those are the parts, all about $30.00. A galvanized or stainless pin with end retainers would accomplish the same thing.

Re: Tilt pin

thought i had one, must have kicked it too many time on the shed floor, and threw it out. a long bolt and locking nut would do the same thing.

Lord tashasdaddy, don't throw anything away. You'd be amazed the things that sell on eBay and some of the prices some items get.

I'm an ex-ham radio operator. Carried around for about 20-25 years---old resisters, capacitors, old radio knobs, tube sockets, you name it. All stored in an old foot locker. After my last move, I thought about throwing all that mess away; but, decided to put them on eBay. Sold all of it!

I'll keep looking around for some type of pin. I'm feel sure they're still being used probably on smaller motors.
