I posted yesterday about my tilt which only goes down, not up. So, today, I did more troubleshooting. Since everything on the rear of the boat seemed OK, I went back to basics. There are 3 wires that come from the switch on the control handle to the tilt/trim relay box. I pulled the wires at a connector on the engine and tested the switch. I checked the green/white wire (down), and the blue/white wire (up), for continuity with the red/white wire (hot). The green/white wire had continuity with the hot wire when the "down" switch was pressed. I could get no continuity with the blue/white wire and the hot wire when the "up" switch was pressed. From this, I am assuming the switch is bad.

Anyway, my question is: how do you remove the switch? It is a thumb operated rocker switch located on the control lever. It has a rubber cover over the switch, and I can't figure out how to remove it. There are NO screws anyplace on the handle, and removing the whole thing so I can put it on the bench would be a major undertaking I wouldn't look forward to. There has got to be a way, just don't know what it is. Would appreciate any input.
