tilt Still wont go down...NEED HELP!!

I had posted this before I have a 1987 chris craft with a 260/V8 alpha one gen one. I tried jumping on it while holding the tilt down with seveal differnt sized people jump on it nothing happen. I tried taking the the out hose off from the pump and jumping on it nothing happed. I know the pump is work tho cause when i had the out off i pushed the trim down once and fluid came out. so it is circulating the fluid. Does anyone have any ideas for what else i can do before i have to take it somwhere and pay somone. Please help. Thanks alot

Ayuh,... Did you disconnect the Rams to see if the drive will move by itself,..??

I'd think the Rams need either Rebuilding, or Replacing...

Sorry this might be a stupid question, but when you say the rams are u talking about the trim cylinders? or r u talking about somthing else. i am new to all this so sorry for the dumb question.

Bond-o i am not sure if this matters but the trim will still go up a little i just cant get it to go down. Would it still go up if the rams were bad?

There are varying degrees of AllF'edUp,....

From what you stated,.. Either the drive is binding,... Or the Rams are....

I had the same problem with my tilt just today. in the valve body on the bottom of the trim pump is a spring loaded check valve. The tolerance is very close and mine had corroded just a little. After some very tender convincing and 120 psi of compressed air I managed to get it out, clean it up with some 800grit, and put it back in. I'm money now.
( as a side note I had a leaking hose, got a little water in the system and that's how it corroded, but condensation could do the same thing.)
