Tilt stuck on!

My 1994 evinrude oceanpro is stuck tilting down, I have to disconnect the battery in order for it stop...I have disconnected both switches(the one on the engine and the one on the throttle handle) and it still does it so I figure it's a relay prob. Does anyone know where the relays are located on this motor? thanks in advance

Remove the cover and look for a black box. Probably on the back of the engine block on the exhaust cover. Screw on each side of the cover. Remove cover. Relays are there. Just pull relay from connector. Also, you should post the hp of the engine along with the year.<br /><br />And by the way....welcome aboard iboats forums!

OBJ i have not located a black box what do relays look like, what am i lookin for?

OK....200hp....look for an open electrical bracket on the port side I believe. The relays are two small black boxes on the bracket....say about 1" by 1" or so square. They will be mounted together. They are just plug in type relays and should pull straight up and out.

OBJ you are awesome found em and tookk them both out ...swapped them around assuming if one was bad the other would still be good(since it wasn' stuck going up) after swapping them around it still does the same thing..should i buy new relays and try that or do ya think something else is wrong? thanks
