My engine is stuck in the up position. I found the relief valve on the right side of the bracket. Or at least i thnk it did there is a hole there that has screw in it. my question is. if i turn that will i be able to freely move the engine up and down manualy? Also does that screw come all the way out. i imange once the pressure is released i will stop.

Sounds like its' air locked, get someone to hold the lower unit so it dosn't fall on you and loosen the line on at the cyl. this should let the motor down then pull the plug on the fill hole and fill up the unit, then run it up and down to get the air out of it, there isn't and rust or any thing showing on the cyl. is there?

Sounds like you've found the release. It unscrews but not all the way out. Turn it ccw slowly and the l/u should drop slowly.

c/6
Hooty

You should be able to lift it up by hand to put it on transom saver.
