Tilt and trim is making a clicking noise at the solenoids. I can feel it in the solenoids when holding the switch. If I play with the switch back and forth it will start working again. It might work all day then it might not. What do yall think the problem might be or some things to try to fix it.

Thanks

Re: Tilt & Trim Clicking noise at the solenoid

The Drive is a 1987 Alpha 1 with 135 hp mercruiser. From reading other threads, would this be the things to check...?

1-Clean all wires and connections. If that does not work...
2-Jump the solenoid with direct power from the battery(which Im not sure which wires to jump)
Would this tell me if it is the solenoid or the motor that is bad? Maybe a little help on what wire to jump if it comes to that.

Thanks

Just jumping across the 2 Big lugs of the solenoid will Bypass the solenoid.....
